The countdown to the 2026 Goya Awards begins with the premiere of its classic spot

Luis Tosar and Rigoberta Bandini star in the spot of the Goya Awards 2026, a production of the Film Academy directed by Claudia Costafreda who, with closeness and humor, encourages viewers to follow the gala that will take place in Barcelona on February 28.

In the piece, the presenters of the 40th edition of the awards demonstrate their “deep mutual admiration and complicity.” The spot ends with the phrase “Now for the gala!”, which also reminds us that in this edition the Goya celebran 40 years of history.

Produced by the Film Academy and directed by Claudia Costafreda, has had a technical team headed by department directors, such as the director of photography Lali Rubio Panadés; the art director Laia Ateca, costume designers Clara Bilbao y Sara Clemente, the car manufacturer Ana Benzal, and, in sound, Elena Coderch. Filmed in Barcelona, in emblematic settings of the Catalan capital such as Montjuïc and the district of The Eixample, the spot culminates in a place with a cinematographic and audiovisual future, Las Tres Xemeneies. The spot has the special collaboration of one of the great Catalan actresses, Emma Vilarasau, nominated for Goya for Best Leading Actress in 2025 by House in flames.

The Goya announcement will be seen on Spanish Television from this weekend until February 28, the day of the awards ceremony and, once again, the movie theaters will join the great festival of Spanish cinema by broadcasting this spot in the weeks prior to the gala, thanks to the collaboration of the Federation of Cinemas of Spain (FECE).
