Tivify - Javier Fernandez - CEO

Tivify will seek to consolidate its position as a key player in the television and streaming entertainment ecosystem under the leadership of Javier Fernández, new CEO of the company part of the group TVUP.

Fernández has more than twenty years of experience in the definition and strategic management of consumer-oriented digital products and services, developed mainly in Vodafone Spain. Throughout his career he has led initiatives with a direct impact on revenue, operational efficiency and adoption of services, combining strategic vision, user focus and solid execution capacity. His experience covers key areas such as connectivity, entertainment and the Internet of Things (IoT), always in highly competitive environments.

During his time at Vodafone Spain, Javier held positions of responsibility in the areas of Content Services, IoT and Home Connectivity, promoting projects that marked relevant milestones in the market. Among them, the exclusive launch of Netflix in Spain, the development and scaling of the residential IoT business and the introduction of the first premium Wi-Fi 6 connectivity service in the Spanish market. These initiatives contributed to expanding the user base, diversifying sources of income and positioning the Spanish market as one of the references within the group.

In this new stage, Javier Fernández assumes the leadership of Tivify with a clear vocation for growth and evolution of the product, which seeks to accelerate its evolution as an “independent business” and consolidate its position in the industry. In his first statements as CEO of the company, Fernández emphasizes that he joins "with the hope of leading a new stage of growth, promoting the development of new services for the home and expanding the company's value proposition", trusting that, together with the team, Tivify will continue to advance in "innovation, customer experience and new expansion opportunities."

From a group perspective, this movement has a strong strategic component. Edwin Elberg, CEO of the group TVUP Streaming Media, highlights that in TVUP's transition from startup to global player, knowing how to balance "operational efficiency and commercial agility" is key. In this context, he emphasizes that Tivify needs to operate with its own autonomy to continue being disruptive, without losing the group's technological synergies. “Javier deeply knows the DNA of the product and brings the strategic vision necessary to turn Tivify not only into a profitable business in itself, but also into an innovation engine that drives TVUP's entire B2B platform,” says Elberg.
