Lens: this is the new function that allows you to monitor alerts in hierarchical groups in MCS (TAG Video Systems)
The Media Control System (MCS) TAG Video Systems receives through its 1.7.0 update the new Lens solution, a visual interface that organizes the supervised video signals into hierarchical groups and that allows you to see at a glance all active alerts in large-scale broadcast operations.
Lens addresses a operational challenge frequent: the time when operators receive several alerts simultaneously and they have to cross-reference data from different monitoring tools to identify the cause of the failures. To facilitate this process, the Lens interface included in MCS version 1.7.0 provides a unified view of all the supervised assets and the active alerts with color-coded severity indicators.
Lens organizes the video streams in customizable hierarchies to help engineers quickly identify root causes. Operations can structure their facilities by location of the data center, content type or signal path. Each transmission can belong to several categories simultaneously, allowing operators to view the same broadcast from different operational perspectives.
When a problem occurs, color-identified severity indicators at each hierarchical level, showing whether the problems affect isolated transmissions or entire categories. In this way, engineers can expand nested hierarchies to go from a high-level overview to specific diagnoses, filter by severity thresholds, and efficiently track which upstream or downstream systems connect to affected assets.
By consolidating alarm data and system relationships into one unique interface, Lens significantly reduces the mean time to repair (MTTR). According to the company, operators can identify root causes “in seconds instead of minutes,” minimizing downtime in large-scale operations.
Lens is now available in TAG Media Control System (MCS) version 1.7.0 and later.
