AWS launches Elemental Inference: AI to adapt video streaming on social networks to vertical format

AWS Elemental Inference aplica AI capabilities in parallel with live video, achieving a latency 6 to 10 seconds compared to minutes required by traditional post-processing approaches. This “process once, optimize everywhere” method executes multiple AI functions simultaneously in the same video stream, eliminating the need to re-render content for each capacity.

The service integrates with AWS Elemental MediaLive, so AI features can be enabled without modifying the video architecture existing companies. The new tool uses basic fully managed (FM) models that update and optimize automatically, so no dedicated AI teams or specialized knowledge are needed. The service comes accompanied with a clip generation tool that automatically detects and extracts highlights clips from live content for real-time distribution.

AWS Elemental Inference is now available in four AWS regions: US East (Northern Virginia), US West (Oregon), Europe (Ireland) and Asia-Pacific (Mumbai) under a consumption-based pricing model.
