Transition to IP and hybrid production: Appear identifies the new needs of the sector at NAB 2026
Appear is running to become a “leader” of live production technology in NAB 2026, an event in which, beyond presenting its new VX Media Gateway solution, it will highlight how its solutions adapt to the main needs of the broadcast field.
In order to address the growing migration from satellite to IP distribution, Appear will demonstrate to visitors NAB 2026 the advantages of Appear X. This processing platform audiovisual assets, which also serves as “high-capacity, ultra-dense, low-latency” gateway, has already been tested by companies such as NBCUniversal, which achieved a “200% increase in density at edge sites, while streamlining operations and enabling more flexible IP- and cloud-connected workflows.”
According to Appear, sports leagues, broadcasters and rights holders are increasingly adopting distributed workflows to reduce costs and increase production capacity for live event coverage. In this sense, the company's technology will demonstrate its suitability for manage acquisition, contribution and distribution of video content at scale, offering synchronization “accurate and reliability” in workflows AVC/HEVC y JPEG XS ultra-low latency.
Additionally, Appear will address the trend towards virtualization and the cloud. In this area, the company will demonstrate how broadcasters can carry out live productions in the form of a single “coherent, flexible and resilient” workflow spanning hardware, software and cloud resources, prioritizing “deterministic performance.”
