Media Links bids at NAB 2026 as “ultra-rugged” IP transport provider for major sporting events

Visitors to the stand NAB 2026 (April 19-22, Las Vegas) Media Links have the opportunity to discover some of the main use cases of their IP transport solutions, used in large sporting events and prepared to provide, through evolving technology, “predictable and uninterrupted” delivery of video, audio and data.

A key point for NAB 2026 of Media Links will be the launch of the tool Hitless Protection, designed to maintain the continuous transport of multimedia and data streams when network conditions are not ideal. By taking advantage standards-based approaches for the redundancy and protection switching, the technology seeks to ensure that packet loss or network interruptions do not affect the integrity of the live video, audio or associated data services.

Media Links will also take advantage of the American fair to present the latest news from its IP media gateway and Xscend transport platform. Designed around modularity and software-defined scalability, the platform receives key improvements such as greater support for HEVC and AVC contribution workflows, enabling more efficient use of network bandwidth “without compromising quality or latency.”

Both the Xscend IP transport platform and network management software ProMD EMS Media Links have been implemented in live sports environments such as national soccer leagues in Europe and the Middle East or in the 2026 Winter Games, appointment in which the Xscend platform was used to add and transport contribution signals through a protected, high-capacity network serving North American broadcasters, bringing together signals in a complex ecosystem of multiple providers.

Looking to the near future, Media Links is preparing to support the broadcasts of the imminent Soccer World Cup 2026, as well as to continue supporting VAR workflows, connecting stadiums and arbitration centers.
