wTVision R3 Engine

wTVision will carry out demonstrations at NAB 2026 with its R³ graphics engine running natively under macOS. With this release, wTVision introduces the first real-time live graphics rendering engine that runs natively on macOS, extending high-performance real-time graphics to Mac-based production environments.

Developed as a native implementation for macOS that takes advantage Apple Metal, the R³ Edition engine for macOS is designed to work alongside the smart network card MEP100 SmartNIC 2110 I/O of Macnica, enabling SMPTE ST 2110 connectivity in software-controlled environments. Together, these technologies form a flexible Mac-based ecosystem that supports distributed live production architectures built on standard computing platforms.

Flávio Maurício, technical director of wTVision, highlights that “”our goal is to modernize the broadcast graphics stack. By developing a Metal-based engine that runs natively on macOS, we deliver predictable real-time performance and low-latency rendering, deeply integrated with the Apple ecosystem. “This milestone brings broadcast graphics closer to the preferred environment for creative teams, while addressing the ever-evolving demands of distributed, IP-based multimedia workflows.”

By combining Apple's graphics framework, broadcast-quality multimedia I/O, and the R³ engine running natively on macOS, wTVision puts Apple's ecosystem at the center of modern live production.

The joint wTVision and Macnica demonstration in Las Vegas will highlight how integrated hardware and software ecosystems can set new performance standards for real-time multimedia production with Apple products.

“The future of live production is being built on open standards and software-defined infrastructure,” he says. Sebastien Dignard, CEO of Macnica for the Americas and EMEA. “By combining Metal-accelerated graphics in macOS, wTVision’s real-time R³ engine, and Macnica’s MEP100 SmartNIC for deterministic IP media transport, we are enabling a new class of high-performance, scalable production workflows aligned with the way modern content teams operate.”

The R³ engine enables end-to-end graphics workflows in news, sports, entertainment and corporate media production. From lower thirds and full-screen graphics to virtual sets, augmented reality, LED screen productions and data-driven sports graphics, the platform enables real-time visual storytelling in diverse broadcast environments.

At NAB 2026, wTVision will showcase a complete graphics production workflow running on macOS within a live IP media environment. The demonstration will show how software-defined production tools, accelerated media I/O, and modern computing platforms can be combined to deliver scalable, reliable, broadcast-quality performance graphics.
