Prodigy.MX: advanced conversion in the ST 2110 environment of Mediapro Argentina
DirectOut Prodigy.MX, solution distributed in Spain by SeaSound, acts as a bridge between the analog and digital worlds within the Mediacenter workflow of Mediapro Argentina in Buenos Aires, an infrastructure that points to the IP benefits of the SMPTE ST 2110 model.
The Mediapro Argentina Mediacenter is one of the television production centers most modern in the region since its launch in 2007. Its facilities include three HD studios, 23 recording rooms, two virtual studios, six production controls for shows and events, and eight controls for remote productions, among other services.
All media management is centralized through a production system that integrates video, audio and data on shared storage. Since 2020, the center has been immersed in a process of progressive migration to technology SMPTE ST 2110, within which the teams have been incorporated DirectOut Prodigy.MX.
The solutions of DirectOut are used for format conversion, which allows analog sources and destinations to be maintained in the system once the rest of the signal flow equipment has been digitized. The Mediapro Argentina team opted for these solutions for their modularity and flexibility, since the system allows for “gradual growth” based on needs.
Regarding ST 2110, Prodigy.MX allows the company to perform shuffling de audio in múltiples streams, through key functions such as its integration through NMOS y Ember+ for signal routing and switching of discrete audio channels.
