Lazona adapts 'Nine Queens' to series format for Netflix

Álvaro Morte and Patrick Criado star in the new series 'Nueve queens', produced by Lazona for Netflix which adapts the Argentine film of the same name, whose filming has already begun in different locations in Madrid.

nine queens It was created by Xosé Morais and Víctor Sierra, who also signed the script and act as executive producers along with Luis Ferrón, Gonzalo Salazar-Simpson, Guido Rud and Juan Pablo Galli. The project is led by Álex Rodrigo and Jorge Saavedra and has photography direction Andreu Adam and Víctor Benavides, and production design Juan Pedro de Gaspar. Completing the cast is Aura Garrido (The innocent), Jose Coronado (Legacy, Intervías) and Margarida Corceiro (Point Nemo), among others.

The new series focuses on Madrid in 2012, in the midst of the economic crisis. “Marks (Álvaro Morte), an unscrupulous veteran swindler, crosses paths with Juan (Patrick Criado), a ruined young man who can barely support his family. What begins as a 24-hour alliance to carry out small scams ends up becoming the coup of their lives: selling legendary counterfeit stamps, the nine queens, as authentic to a ruthless magnate (Jose Coronado),” reads the synopsis.
