The Spanish Association of Telecommunications Engineers-Madrid celebrates the 10th Telecommunications Night
The Spanish Association of Telecommunications Engineers of Madrid (AEIT-Madrid) celebrated yesterday the 10th edition of the Madrid Telecommunications Night, a meeting already consolidated as a reference for the digital ecosystem of the Community of Madrid.
This edition once again focused on promoting the networking between professionals, companies and institutions, as well as recognizing the work and dedication of professionals who contribute to technological advancement and digital transformation in the region.
As pointed out Inmaculada Sánchez Ramos, president of the Spanish Association of Telecommunications Engineers-Madrid, "in a technological environment in constant evolution, where disciplines such as artificial intelligence, quantum or cybersecurity converge, the role of the telecommunications engineer is increasingly decisive. Their training allows them not only to understand the complexity of these systems, but also to promote innovative solutions with a global and strategic vision."
For its part, Miguel López-Valverde Argüeso, Councilor for Digitalization of the Community of Madrid, commented that “the Madrid Telecommunications Night is an example of the talent, innovation and commitment of the sector to the digital future of our society.”
During the event, the Madrid Telecommunications Night Awards, which recognize the trajectory, talent and contribution of professionals and entities in key areas such as cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, quantum technologies, technological sovereignty, biomedical engineering, space technology and the data economy.
In the category of Geostrategy and Technological Sovereignty, in this edition the prize has been awarded to Narcissus Cardona, in recognition of his career and leadership in the development of strategic technologies at an international level.
The award in Quantum Technologies has fallen into Angel Alvaro, for his contribution to the advancement of quantum solutions applied to the space field.
In Artificial intelligence, the prize has been awarded to Mateo Camara Largo, for his work in the development and application of AI in the academic and technological environment.
The recognition in Cybersecurity has been for Pedro Peris Lopez, for his outstanding work in the investigation and protection of digital systems.
In the category of Space Technology and Defense, the award has been granted to the Airbus Defense and Space Business Unit, for its key role in promoting the global aerospace and defense industry.
The Prize in Biomedical Engineering has fallen into José Carlos Fernández de Aldecoa, for his contribution to technological innovation in the healthcare field.
In the category of Social Commitment, the prize has been awarded ex aequo to Las Rozas City Council, for its entrepreneurship and business development projects as drivers of social transformation; and Ana Herrera, director of Business Development and Entrepreneurship at Las Rozas Innovates, for its strategic leadership in the revitalization of the entrepreneurial fabric, with a vision aimed at positive and sustainable impact on society.
In the category of Data Economy and Digital Value In this edition, the award was awarded ex aequo to Malaga City Council, for its pioneering role in the implementation of intelligent solutions and in the promotion of public management based on innovation and the use of data; already Alicia Izquierdo García, deputy mayor of the Malaga City Council and responsible for innovation and urban digitalization, for his commitment to digitalization and attracting technological investment with social impact.
The event was attended by prominent representatives of both the public and private sectors, including Miguel López-Valverde Argüeso, Minister of Digitalization of the Community of Madrid; Marta Balenciaga Arrieta, dean-president of the Official College of Telecommunications Engineers (COIT) and president of the Spanish Association of Telecommunications Engineers (AEIT); Alejandro Las Heras Vázquez, CEO of the Cybersecurity Agency of the Community of Madrid; José Luis Belinchón Carmona, manager of Technological Innovation in the Community of Madrid; Juan Carlos Fouz, president of CIONET; Mirian Izquierdo Barriuso, president of the Woman Forward Foundation; David García Nuñez, president of Madrid World Capital (MWCC); Fabián Torres Suárez, general secretary of the UICM; Maite Marcos, general director of the Digital Security and Society Company Foundation; Miguel Sánchez Galindo, general director of DigitalES; Francisco Hortigüela, general director of AMETIC; Verónica Fernández Digón, technical director of AUTELSI; Manuel Sierra Castañer, director of the ETSIT of the UPM; and Javier Matanzo Domingo; responsible for the ICAI Telecommunications MIUT; María Encinas de la Rosa, manager of the Business School of the Madrid Chamber of Commerce; Carlos Pelegrí, director of Business Development at Esade Madrid; Juan José Ladanzuri Palacios, advisor to Harvard Business Review.
