EVS Liveception - TVU - Transport slow motion

The RPS synchronized transport architecture TVU Networks has certified its interoperability with LiveCeption of EVS, which will allow high frame rate repetition workflows to be transported over IP networks.

Traditionally, remote super slow motion production has relied on dedicated high bandwidth fiber circuits and from one in situ playback infrastructure, due to the challenge of maintaining synchronization between multiple signal phases HFR. The technology Precision TimeAlign of TVU, key to the RPS architecture, addresses this challenge by applying hardware-level timestamps in the ingest and reconstructing precisely synchronized phases sub-frame at the receiving center, enabling reliable remote playback workflows over IP networks such as 5G, Starlink, public internet and standard broadband connections.

Integrated directly into EVS XT-VIA and LSM-VIA workflows, the solution allows chains to centralize playback operations, while expanding high-quality streaming coverage to more productions, venues and sporting events. The integration also complements IT orchestration workflows. EVS Cerebrum, allowing operators to manage synchronized replay ingestion, routing and production control from a unified operating environment.

John Wastcoat, senior director of business development at TVU Networks, highlights the development, highlighting that “by integrating TVU's TimeAlign transport technology into EVS workflows, broadcasters can now deliver high-quality super slow motion productions from venues that previously could not support them, while maintaining the performance and replay responsiveness expected from EVS environments.”

Jan Mokallai, vice president of live production solutions at EVS, confirms Wastcoat's words: “The technical validation of TVU's synchronized remote ingest technology with our LiveCeption solution expands advanced remote playback operations beyond the traditional limits of production and enables new levels of operational agility for live sports productions.”
