The collaboration between Mediaset, Prime Video and Zanskar will make Calleja the third Spaniard to travel to space
On February 3 it will be released in Prime Video 'Calleja in space', the culmination of the adventures of Jesús Calleja with his arrival into space via Blue Origin's New Shepard rocket, fruit of the collaboration between Mediaset Spain, Zanskar and Amazon's own platform.
After exploring the most remote places on the globe by land, sea and air in the ten seasons of Planet Calleja, and then hundreds of challenges in Extreme challenge, the presenter closes the circle of his travels traveling to space y relatando la experiencia para la ocasión.
In his desire to soak up as much information as possible about his next mission and give free rein to his curiosity about the space industry, Calleja will have the opportunity to speak, among others, with astronauts Pedro Duque, Miguel López-Alegría and Pablo Álvarez; with NASA engineers and experts, and with one of the people who have preceded him on his journey aboard the New Shepard. In addition, you will travel to key locations such as the Large Canary Islands Telescope, the Blue Origin facilities near Seattle, NASA's legendary Johnson Space Center in Houston, NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena (California) and the European Astronaut Training Center of the European Space Agency in Cologne.
The climax of the series will come with the long-awaited release of New Shepard, in which Calleja, along with five other people, will leave the Earth's atmosphere and will be able to contemplate planet Earth from space. This moment can be seen live in a special edition of Telecinco News driven at noon by Carlos Franganillo, which will show images of the rocket's ascent, the return of the booster, the landing of the capsule, the opening of the hatch and the exciting reactions of Jesús and his family.
The coverage of the event, on which a large editorial team is already working, will begin in the days before and will include the daily reports of a reporter who will travel with Calleja from Madrid and will remain with him until his admission to the Blue Origin training center, three days before the flight. Likewise, the Informativos Telecinco team will carry out recreations on the set made with augmented and extended reality technologies.
In the final installment of the docuseries Alley in space, which Mediaset España will broadcast after its premiere in Prime Video, viewers will see images of Jesús Calleja floating weightlessly inside the New Shepard capsule and contemplating the Earth from space. It will also show exclusive images of his trip from Spain and the days leading up to the launch, his interactions with his family, his training sessions with his flight companions and Calleja's reactions.
