Mediaset joins Prime Video to bring Jesús Calleja to space with an unprecedented format

A new television production of Mediaset Spain in collaboration with Zanskar Productions will immortalize Jesús Calleja's trip to space with the help of the aerospace company Blue Origin. The format can be seen in Spain through Mediaset and throughout the world via Prime Video.

In this new docuseries, still unnamed, the Spectators will be able to attend first-hand to the preparation of the presenter and adventurer Jesus Calleja, as well as learning about his childhood passion for science, the environment and space. Prime Video and Mediaset España will produce different episodes to narrate his preparation process and accompany you during the own trip, which will mean a whole physical challenge and, above all, emotional.

Barry Furlong, vice president of Prime Video in Europe, contributes its vision about this new program: "Literally, this is a new level for Prime Video content. Jesús Calleja's travels around the world have become a format much loved by the Spanish audience, and now they will be able to follow him during the trip of a lifetime to space. Our alliance with Mediaset España has contributed to changing the paradigm of the coexistence of streaming and free-to-air television and we are delighted to join forces for this new historic content."

On the other hand, Paolo Vasile, in one of his last statements as head of Mediaset Spain, commented that "having visited and narrated Jesús Calleja practically all the places on earth, we have thought that he has earned the right to start narrating those that are outside our planet. We will be able to make it a reality thanks to the always so productive collaboration with Amazon Prime Video, which has led us to sign an agreement with Blue Origin so that Jesús Calleja becomes the first non-astronaut Spaniard to travel to space."
