Onza will adapt 'Mamá es dormida', a novel by Máximo Huerta

'Mamá is asleep', a novel published by Editorial Planeta and written by journalist Máximo Huerta that has already reached its sixth edition, will be transformed into a feature film by the hand of Ounce Productions, which has acquired the rights to audiovisual adaptation of the work.

With the incorporation of this title to its catalogue, Onza take a step key strategic and reinforces its determined commitment to the production of feature films for cinemas, giving continuity to the cinematographic line started with the recent filming of his latest film, Between Vineyards. In this way, the company expands its trajectory in television towards premium film projects, promoting great stories that have a strong emotional charge, characters of great complexity and that audiences fall in love with.

mom is asleep tells the story of a fifty-three-year-old man who has always believed he was an only child, until the first signs of his mother's cognitive deterioration blow up all his certainties with an unexpected question: “And your brother, where is he?” To discover if it is a deception of the mind or a long-buried family secret, both undertake a journey of revelation in a motorhome to Vera de Bidasoa, the mountain town marked by the mother's past in the Women's Section. The journey thus becomes a road movie that combines intimate drama and mystery, exploring the “fragility of memory and the impact of the silences of the past.”
