Melilla Television launches a new 4K mobile unit with advanced broadcast technology developed and integrated by Broad Service with solutions Ross Video, Sony, Fujinon y Yamaha.

The new Melilla Television mobile unit will allow expand technical capacity and improve the quality of broadcasts carried out from any point in the Autonomous City. The presentation event took place in the Plaza de las Culturas, where authorities, professionals in the sector and citizens were able to learn first-hand about the benefits of this new production tool, designed to respond to the current demands of the audiovisual market.

The new mobile unit replaces the previous vehicle, which had remained operational for more than twenty years, and represents an important technological leap for the public entity. Prepared for productions in high definition and 4K, has been designed to address sports broadcasts, cultural events, institutional events, entertainment programs and special news coverage with a high level of quality and reliability.

The development and integration of the new infrastructure has been led by Broad Service, responsible for coordinating the implementation of the different systems that make up the mobile unit and adapting the solution to the operational and production needs of Televisión Melilla.

The infrastructure incorporates a complete professional production system with the capacity to operate up to six cameras simultaneously, in addition to positions for production, production, technical control, sound and replay operations, allowing coverage of events of different nature and complexity to be covered with technical guarantees.

The system is complemented by specific control panels for the daily management of production configurations and with processing technology that provides flexibility and simplifies technical operations during live broadcasts.

In the image capture section, the unit incorporates professional cameras Sony HXC-FZ90, configured for live multi-camera production and equipped with optics Fujinon ZA17 and ZA12, a combination that offers the necessary versatility to adapt to different coverage scenarios, from large sports venues to smaller spaces or institutional productions.

The signal processing and adaptation infrastructure is also supported by technology Ross OpenGear, facilitating the integration of different audiovisual formats and guaranteeing interoperability between the various onboard systems. For quality control and technical supervision, the unit also has specific equipment designed to verify the correct behavior of the signals during broadcasts.

The audio area is articulated around a digital console Yamaha DM7, a solution aimed at broadcast applications and live events that provides extensive mixing and processing capabilities to guarantee maximum sound quality in broadcasts. This environment is completed with professional monitoring, communications and intercommunication systems that facilitate coordination between production, cameras and technical personnel during production.

Among the most notable features of the new unit is the integration of advanced recording and instant replay systems, especially useful in sports broadcasts and productions that require greater narrative dynamism.

Design and operational efficiency

The vehicle, whose design and integration have been developed on a platform built by Tecnove, has been designed to optimize both the ergonomics of workstations and operational efficiency during deployments. Its interior configuration allows it to house up to seven simultaneous operating stations, including areas for realization, production, technical control, sound and content management, facilitating the coordinated work of the different teams involved in each broadcast.

This commitment to efficiency contributes to reducing the energy impact associated with technical deployments and reinforces the commitment to more sustainable audiovisual production models.

The new mobile unit will begin to provide service in the coverage of some of the main events in the city, reinforcing the capacity of Televisión Melilla to bring higher quality broadcasts to citizens and consolidating its commitment to the technological modernization of its audiovisual production systems.

With this incorporation, Televisión Melilla takes a step forward in the renewal of its technical infrastructure and is in line with the current standards of professional mobile units, betting on a more flexible, efficient production model prepared to face the challenges of the audiovisual future.
