The UEMC modernizes its television set with 4K technology

The Miguel de Cervantes European University (UEMC) completes the comprehensive renovation of its film and television set with an investment of close to 100,000 euros, incorporating a 4K production technological ecosystem that replicates the workflows used in television networks, production companies and professional content creation environments.

The update of the UEMC facilities in Valladolid turns the largest university facility in Castilla y León into a training environment aligned with the current demands of the audiovisual industry. The modernization includes a realization system based on Tricaster of Vizrt, four cameras Blackmagic Studio 4K controlled remotely from the production room and the capacity to produce and broadcast live and streaming content with 4K resolution. In this way, students can work with procedures identical to those used in broadcast productions, from the selection of shots to multi-camera production in real time.

The audio section has also been renewed with a digital table Yamaha integrated on a Dante network infrastructure, a technology widely implemented in the broadcast sector due to its flexibility and ability to transport multiple audio channels through IP networks. Sound pickup is completed with microphones Sony ECM-44B, common in news programs, interviews and television broadcasts.

The lighting incorporates professional low-consumption LED luminaires, RGB systems and control via DMX protocol managed from a table. Triton Blue, configuring a flexible environment for different production formats. The set also integrates automation tools such as Stream Deck (Elgato), which streamline operations during live production and optimize production flows.

An environment that reproduces a professional production

The facilities occupy more than 150 square meters distributed over two heights and eight meters of stage volume. The space has four different stages, a large professional chroma key area, a 44-square-meter production room, large-format multi-screen monitoring and seven individual editing and post-production booths equipped with professional video, image and audio software.

This infrastructure allows comprehensively address all phases of production audiovisual, from planning and recording to production, broadcast, editing and post-production, facilitating the students to assume the different professional profiles involved in an audiovisual project.

The set constitutes one of the main training spaces for students of the degrees in Journalism, Audiovisual Communication and Advertising and Public Relations, although it is also used by students of other degrees that require skills in communication and creation of digital content.

With this technological update, the UEMC reinforces a teaching model based on practice with professional equipment, encouraging future graduates to gain experience with tools present in television stations, production companies, communication agencies and companies dedicated to multimedia production.
