Television Studio - LiveU - SES

A complete turnkey solution offering customers video contribution and distribution, as well as premium content aggregation: this is the latest offering from SESLiveU

With the new offering from the two companies with long-standing broadcast experience, customers wishing to broadcast live sports, news and other events from stadiums, sports venues and remote locations now have access to live video creation and distribution combining satellite, fibre, IP and mobile capabilities

This solution is distributed along three axes. On the contribution side, LiveU mobile fields units will be able to have a direct connection to SES teleports via 4G/5G. In this way, this direct connection offers an alternative to a mobile SNG unit or can be used as a backup source. With regard to aggregation, customers now have the ability to aggregate their content in the LiveU Matrix IP cloud live video service, including from LiveU backpacks and via SES satellite and IP connections. Finally, on the distribution side, users will have simultaneous access to live video distribution via SES’s global satellite and IP networkLiveU Matrix’s global customer feeds. In addition, those interested in this LiveU and SES solution will be able to rely on SES’ dedicated project management team, and LiveU’s 24/7 support and service

Michele Gosetti, director of sales, sports and events at SES, believes that the combined expertise and technology of both brands will offer “the ability to deliver high-quality, professional broadcasts whether athletes are climbing up a remote mountain or competing in an urban professional sports stadium.” The system, as a matter of fact, has already been tested by customers such as Oranda Singapore, which has deployed the solution to broadcast a sport climbing championship in Korea to viewers in EMEA, the Americas and Asia with LiveU’s mobile fields unitsSES’s satellite distribution

From the LiveU side, Ronen Artman, vice president of marketing, highlights the “robust broadcast-quality live coverage and back-up” and additional unique benefits: “There are also last mile benefits – customers can deliver the aggregated feeds easily in a direct seamless delivery to their Matrix account and receiver. Combining mobile and cloud, with satellite, fibre and IP offers the widest choice of technologies and remote production workflows to customers on a global scale.”
