The 18th edition of the Mercat Audiovisual de Catalunya (MAC), which will take place on June 14 and 15 in Granollers, expands the focus of its activities.

MAC 2016

The Audiovisual Market of Catalonia (MAC) comes of age this year and in its 18th edition it grows in size and opens for the first time a collaboration with the Digital Granollers platform, aimed at digital culture in general. It is a strategic alliance that aims to have continuity in the future. Both events will share spaces and some common activities, in a joint program. Hence, the MAC will extend its duration and will be held in two days, which will be June 14 and 15. The stage will once again be Roca Umbert Fàbrica de les Arts de Granollers, a former textile factory converted into a multicultural space.

MAC 2016

An immersive MAC

The Mercat Audiovisual de Catalunya comes of age with a program of activities that will include presentations, information sessions, presentations of products and services and a business-oriented fair space, Fira MAC.

In this area, technological innovations related to virtual reality (VR), the recording and projection of 360º images and video games will be presented, offering different immersive experiences that will seek maximum interactivity with the public.

The MAC and Digital Granollers are organized by the Granollers City Council with the support of the Generalitat of Catalonia, the Barcelona Provincial Council and the collaboration of other public and private institutions.

The new MAC will also incorporate an active collaboration with Granollers Mercat, the municipal economic promotion service, with the aim of promoting the professional entrepreneurship sector.

The program of activities for MAC 2017 and Digital Granollers will be announced very soon, as well as the opening of the free registration period.

MAC 2016

The most digital MAC

From within Digital Granollers, critical and creative reflection will be promoted on the set of technologies linked to the Internet and the unprecedented and accelerated transformation that it is causing in our lives in the professional, cultural, educational and participation spheres. In short, how it affects citizens. This model is fully part of the Granollers, educating city project.

Digital Granollers is the brand through which Catosfera continued, a meeting point for the Catalan Internet that held three editions between 2008 and 2013. Between 2009 and 2014, and now under the name Digital Granollers, the city hosted four editions of this cycle of in-depth debates on Internet technological developments that brought together the community around the .cat domain. Now this model is reformulated, accompanying the Mercat Audiovisual de Catalunya.
