NXG, a project that allows a single radio presenter to execute a radio program from abroad without the need for a traditional mobile mobile has won the 2017 Technology and Innovation Prize awarded by the European Broadcasting Union. Through the use of a powerful remote control protocol, NXG allows you to perform a full radio program from anywhere with a simple network connection.

The project developed jointly by Sveriges Radio (SR) and the German manufacturer Lawo He received the award in the technical assembly of the UUr that took place this Thursday, June 8, in Stuttgart.

This award established by the UER last year seeks to recognize an individual or group project that has an important impact on broadcasting. Last year's winner was the VRT Sandbox Liveip Studio, a proof of concept for live television production, which is executed exclusively on IP infrastructure.

Egon Verharen, president of the EUR Technical Committee, has assured that "NXG was a very exciting project and points out the way to greater efficiency in the production of radio programs."

For his part, Simon Fell, director of Technology and Innovation, added that "it is really great to find that the award this year will stop a new generation radio development. In addition, it shows the importance and value that the members of the UUr give to the radio."
