Ross and Evertz demonstrate open connections in IP control systems under AMWA

For the first time at the show, we can see the Evertz Magnum orchestration and control system in action driving the Ross Raptor-Edge IP gateway through AMWA specifications.

Ross Video y Evertz will demonstrate at IBC the successful implementation of the latest specification promoted by the Advanced Media Workflow Association (AMWA) for the management of open connections in IP control systems. For the first time at the show, we will be able to see the Evertz Magnum orchestration and control system in action driving the Ross Raptor-Edge IP gateway through the AMWA IS-04 and IS-05 specifications for the NMOS connection discovery, registration and management APIs.

Mo Goyal, director of product marketing at Evertz, acknowledges that "the transition to IP is happening now. With more than 80 large-scale IP deployments around the world, we continue to support open standards to ensure vendor interoperability within intellectual property facilities. Both Evertz and Ross are active members of AIMS, the ASPEN Community, SMPTE, VSF and AMWA and are working together with other industry partners to achieve this goal.

At this show it will once again be evident that both Ross and Evertz are committed to industry interoperability and are working at the forefront of IP standards and specifications, including SMPTE ST 2110, AMWA IS-04 and IS-05 offering a suite of IP-enabled products, including media gateways (Raptor-Edge, Bach), graphics (XPression) and production switchers (Acuity) from Ross; and a half gateways (570IPG and 7890MG), multiviewers (3067VIP10G) as well as Evertz's software-defined computing platform (evEDGE).
