Moto GP for the first time in 3D
The Red Bull US Grand Prix is recorded for the first time in high definition and 3D with a Pace Team 3D Fusion system.
Last weekend, a team of Pace Team technicians traveled to the Red Bull Moto GP Grand Prix to record the spectacular 3D test from Laguna Seca. Company founder Vince Pace and Academy Award-winning visual effects specialist John Bruno were with their team at the Laguna Seca circuit filming MotoGP action for a 3D demonstration.
Pace's Fusion 3D camera system has been used for the filming of James Cameron's Avatar, or for other sporting events such as the NBA All-Star Game. Pace's solution is based on a double lens system that captures images for the left and right eyes separately, allowing the recreation of depth of field perception in post-production, with the combined use of two Sony HD camera bodies.
