The Autonomous Radio and Television of the Basque Country has installed a Sgi CXFS shared file system at the Miramón program production headquarters that allows Final Cut post-production systems to access the material, via fiber, stored in an InfiniteStorage 4000.

Redacción EiTBEuskal Irrati Telebista (EITB) renews confidence in Sgi's systems, now installing a new SGI CXFS shared file system at the program production headquarters in Miramón with the aim of providing Apple's FinalCut post-production teams at the chain with access via Fiber Channel to the InfiniteStorage 4000 storage server and has created a SAN network that supports a bandwidth of 200 MB/s for post-production users.

Until now, the EITB had a Sgi Altix 350 server and an InfiniteStorage 4000 that performed central storage functions in a NAS environment acting as the online archive core for its advanced editing and news creation environment. This new facility will provide great advantages to the EITB since with a single SGI system and infrastructure it will allow different departments to access the material housed in a common storage infrastructure.

Likewise, during the summer, EITB has installed a new Sgi Altix 350 server with the aim of, on the one hand, providing high availability and redundancy to the existing server used until now as a NAS Server and as a CXFS File System for the SAN and on the other with the aim of having said Server as a second NAS head so that, through Samba, new clients of the newsroom can access the server concurrently.

Sgi equipment guarantees EITB the quality it requires in its production systems, as well as the necessary services in terms of bandwidth, capacity, scalability, availability and redundancy. In addition, they integrate perfectly with the rest of the systems involved in the production, editing and content management processes.
