Mediawan expands its presence in Spain with an ambitious production hub
Mediawan Studios Spain is emerging as an ambitious production hub made up of the Boomerang TV group, Good Mood and Weekend Studio.
Mediaman, one of the leading independent premium content production studios in Europe, has just announced the creation of Mediawan Studios Spain, an ambitious production hub in Spain composed of the group Boomerang TV, Spanish subsidiary of Lagardère Studios whose acquisition closed on October 30, Good Mood, independent production company acquired in June and Weekend Studio, a promising production company in which it has acquired a minority stake.
Mediawan Studios Spain will be directed by Monica Galer, member of the board of directors of Mediawan since November 2019.
In recent years, Spain has emerged as one of the most dynamic markets in the production industry in Europe, and is a priority market for Mediawan. With more than 460 million native Spanish speakers in the world, there is a growing demand for premium content in Spanish globally.
The group's objective when creating this hub in Spain is bring together the best talents in audiovisual content European with extensive experience in all types of formats (series, cinema, entertainment formats), a recognized track record in the production of premium content and with global ambition.
On the other hand, it is reinforce co-production and co-distribution synergies among the Group's production companies throughout Europe, as the group has begun to do in recent months with Palomar in the Italian market.
The hub will also enhance the close relationships that these production companies have forged with the main television networks and platforms in the Spanish market.
