Today Disney XD begins its broadcasts
Replacing Jetix, Disney begins today in Spain the broadcasts of Disney XD, a channel aimed at children and adolescents between 6 and 18 years old.
Disney has changed its strategy for the age group between 6 and 18, so starting today Jetix will give way to Disney XD. The channel that will be distributed by cable and satellite is property of The Walt Disney Company, which launched it on February 13 in the United States as a result of the merger between Jetix and Toon Disney. Disney XD has a parallel channel in 720p high definition in the United States.
In France the channel was launched on April 1, 2009 through the merger of Jetix France and Toon Disney. In the United Kingdom, the channel resulting from the merger of Jetix UK and Toon Disney will replace the Jetix UK dial at the end of 2009. In Latin America, it replaced Jetix Latin America on July 3, 2009 throughout the region, and began its broadcasts with two consecutive episodes of the new series Aaron Stone. Japan was the last country where it was launched on August 1. Now, it's Spain's turn.
