The “Galician UFO” elevates viral marketing to the category of blockbuster

Javier Fesser has been the producer for Terra of the famous video of extraterrestrial sightings that has gone around the world with which the Spanish company wanted to pay tribute to Orson Welles on the occasion of the 71st anniversary of the broadcast of “The War of the Worlds”.

After more than 3 million videos viewed, 8,000 comments, 200 videos uploaded to Youtube.com, and more than 300 mentions in different places on the Internet, finally the famous video of extraterrestrial sightings in Galicia has turned out to be a viral marketing campaign elevated to blockbuster status by the company responsible for this project: Terra. The Spanish company commissioned Javier Fesser to produce this video in which a group of Galician fishermen were seen watching, astonished, from their boat on the high seas, an aerial chase between two fighter jets and a supposed UFO. The person in charge of production is Pendleton Films, with an original script by Javier Fesser himself, with more than 100 people taking part in the production.

With this action, Terra wanted to pay tribute to Orson Welles, on the occasion of the commemoration of the 71st anniversary of “The War of the Worlds”, who in October 1938 terrified American listeners with his radio narration about the invasion of Earth by a Martian army.
