Sony Vegas Pro 9.0c, new features for professional environments

The new free update for Vegas Pro 9 software users includes rendering of MP4 files recorded in XDCAM EX, improved MPEG-2 Smart Render, improved audio capabilities, and expanded RED One support.

Sony Creative Software has just released Vegas Pro 9.0c software, the latest update to its award-winning non-linear HD audio and video editing application. Vegas Pro 9.0c software offers rendering of MP4 files recorded with XDCAM EX and the ability to Smart Render MPEG-2 videos across different containers for faster and more seamless editing. New audio features including exclusive Elastique Pro timestretching and importing stereo audio as dual mono bring even more professional tools to this award-winning NLE. Added support for footage shot with the RED ONE camcorder with more efficient access to files and effective for editors working with 4K+ resolution footage. Vegas Pro 9.0c software also includes added card support for capture and output via SDI, HD-SDI and HDMI.

The Vegas Pro 9.0c software update is free for current registered users and is available for download. The Vegas Pro 9 software is available in English, German, Spanish, Japanese and French at a price of around 545 euros.

XDCAM EX MP4 file rendering support provides a complete solution for professional XDCAM EX camera footage to be edited within the Vegas Pro software and easily returned to the camera, essentially creating a quick and easy turnaround that saves significant time for users who work independently in the field or in the studio and need to transfer final projects directly to SxS (solid state) media.

• Smart Render of MPEG-2 across various formats

Leveraging Vegas Pro's unique Smart Render technology across multiple MPEG-2 formats allows video frames to pass through the computer unaltered, facilitating faster encoding while providing lower loss in cutting projects or projects with minimal changes.

• Import Stereo as Dual Mono

The option to automatically split stereo audio channels into independent audio tracks as they are placed on the timeline increases processing control for a variety of applications such as an interview in which channel one contains the interviewer's voice and channel two contains the subject's voice.

• Additional Card Support and MPEG Video Quality Settings

The expanded card support contains Blackmagic Design DeckLink HD Extreme, AJA IO Express and AJA Xena LHI, giving more support for high-quality capture and output via SDI, HD-SDI, HDMI for greater editing workflow flexibility.
