Hi Human Interface incorporates new functions for control

Based on its ease of use, speed and responsiveness, hi human interface demonstrates at IBC 2024 new functions such as light control, advanced monitoring system, control from a second screen (UI) and new hiDot hardware.

Thanks to this proposal developed by Broadcast Solutions, controlling broadcast facilities is much easier and more intuitive with a platform-neutral user interface. The clear display of the user interface always keeps the operator with everything under control and with a clear vision.

With modern auto-discovery and zero configuration technologies, hi drastically reduces the installation and configuration time of broadcast systems.

Based on open source software, hi works in all environments: It can be used on PC, Mac, tablets or even from a smartphone, and all without the need for installation, natively from the browser. Control and communicate with a wide range of devices, such as baseband routers, multi-displays, processing devices, video/audio mixers, and third-party SDN controllers, and natively supports Grass Valley AMPP, NDI, Dante, Compressed routing, NMOS-IS04, NMOS-IS05, and NMOS-IS07.

User interfaces can be as simple as a 1U panel with buttons and rotary encoders for pagination and parameter control, or workflow-specific control views can be created for iPads. In large-scale productions, hi instances on interconnected hubs act as a single system. The Power Widgets They add specific functions, such as controlling PTZ cameras or servers, to create complex workflows with multiple interactions that are activated with a single click.

At IBC 2024 it has become clear that Hi is capable of handling protocols as varied as NMOS, Dante, NDI, GV AMPP, Video IPath, PTZ-control, ArtNet, VB440, Ember+, TSL, SWP-08, among others.

hi it is completely supplier agnostic. It incorporates automatic detection of NMOS, NDI, Dante, VideoIPath and GV AMPP devices, so all you have to do is connect the device to the network for hi to identify it and add it to the workflow map. Configurations are stored in hi, so they can be instantly recalled when the same production is covered again.

Total customization

But, without a doubt, one of its advantages is its fast learning and its operation in both small and large and complex systems since its dynamic approach allows a perfect integration of new technologies. In addition, it is now possible to customize the workflow with Power Widgets: starting with VB440, PTZ control, video servers, counters, return signal monitoring including peak meters...

Another novelty in hi is the possibility of now having a second screen which provides a new UI page below the main UI. Also new is lighting control through ArtNet and advanced system monitoring using Grafana.

To ensure security in multi-vendor IP environments, it is now possible to manage users and roles using Azure Active Directory giving access and usage privileges in a personalized way (EntraID).

Finally, it is worth noting that in Amsterdam a curious hardware element is shown, the new hiDot. It is a development that combines a physical button, an encoder, and a touch screen that allows you to control parameters, retrieve snapshots, activate rules and much more. And all this, with PoE power.
