Hoy ha muerto en San Sebastián a la edad de 66 años uno de los directores de culto del cine español con trabajos transgresores como ‘Arrebato’, ‘Ritesti’ o ‘Un, dos, tres, al escondite inglés’.
At the age of 66, Iván Zulueta, one of the most recognized cult directors of Spanish cinema, died today in San Sebastián. Zulueta, who had been in poor health in recent years, was admitted two days ago to the Donostia Hospital in the capital of Gipuzkoa with a leg ailment, finally dying from a respiratory complication.
The San Sebastian director, who had been away from the camera for almost fifteen years, was recently working on a new experimental film project titled From ecstasy to rapture.
Iván Zulueta has marked an entire generation of filmmakers with transgressive films, considered cult by critics, such as Rapture, Ritest o One, two, three, to the English hideout. In addition to his role as a filmmaker, Zulueta, together with his inseparable Polaroid, carried out numerous graphic works, specializing in film posters such as those he made for directors such as Pedro Almodóvar, Miguel Albadalejo, José Luis Garcia or José Luis Borau.
