Avid expands its customers' workflows with the latest version of Interplay, now with new compatibility features for Mac-based Avid editing systems and the new option for recording and scheduling ingests, Interplay Capture 1.0.

The clients of Avid They will now be able to expand their workflows integrated into the Interplay production content management system with enhanced media access and control capabilities offered through Interplay's compatibility with Mac-based Avid editing systems and greater workflow accuracy through dynamic material ingestion and metadata management capabilities.

Currently used in more than 700 of the world's largest production studios and broadcasters, Interplay enables clients to efficiently manage content creation projects by centralizing digital material and expanding access capacity to remote users. Now support for the Media Composer and Symphony editing systems on the Mac platform, bringing the benefits of Interplay workflow to customers using Apple's latest operating system, Snow Leopard. Interplay 2.1 also offers Web Services 2.0, expanding interoperability between Interplay and third-party systems. In addition to accessing Interplay metadata and content, external applications can now, for example, use Interplay Media Services to transfer content between Interplay and external systems, convert media to other formats, and publish low-resolution proxies.

Interplay Capture 1.0

Also new is the introduction of Interplay Capture, a new option in the Interplay system for ingest automation that schedules and controls the recording of incoming content quickly and accurately. Interplay Capture 1.0 allows you to streamline workflows and improve metadata management with a direct interface connected to the database of the Interplay production content management system. Thus, editors and journalists can start working with Interplay Access and edit content as it is ingested, which speeds up news generation and broadcast.

This option also enables failover and redundancy by ensuring complete and accurate capture of ingests with dynamic channel assignment and failover across a channel group. Finally, note that its new interface expands configuration possibilities, increasing customer productivity thanks to greater control and a complete view of incoming signals and system diagnostics. Customers can update on the fly by creating and monitoring timeline-based schedules that provide immediate information on the status of multiple feeds and channels.
