The Sony PROduction Awards seek the audiovisual talent of young people

Starting February 22, Sony will reward the talent of young filmmakers. The winners from each country will be able to shoot with the new NXCAM HXR-NX5E camcorder and edit the materials using the Sony VAIO and the Vegas Pro 9 editing package that they will receive as a prize.

Sony Professional has just announced the Sony PROduction Awards, a competition that gives young talents in the audiovisual sector the opportunity to make their talent known around the world. In order to share with them the launch of the HXR-NX5E camcorder of the new NXCAM family, Sony has joined forces with some of the main forums of the audiovisual sector in Europe to offer content creators a unique opportunity to learn first-hand about the possibilities of NXCAM and participate in a European competition whose winner will receive an all-expenses paid trip to attend the 2010 Champions League final.

In Spain, the contest will be launched on February 22, 2010 in collaboration with www.notodotv.com, the new Internet television dedicated to audiovisual creation, from Notodo.com, portal that promotes the festivals Notodofilmfest.com, Notodofotofest.com and Notodopublifest.com.

The young creators who participate in this contest will see their work exposed to the critical gaze of thousands of people in an attempt to earn the respect of the broadcast community. The winners will receive not only the recognition they deserve, but also the advice and support of the Sony Professional team to help them develop their abilities as creators.

In January, Sony Professional released the first camcorder in the newly introduced NXCAM family, the HXR-NX5E, which uses a professional implementation of AVCHD technology. Thanks to its features, affordable price and storage on low-cost and widely available Memory Stick and SDHC memory cards, this new model brings the possibilities of a file-based workflow to even more professionals, facilitating integration with Blu-ray Disc, DVD authoring processes and new multimedia platforms, in mobile and online environments.
