Panasonic AG-HMX100, a new low-cost multi-format mixer

Panasonic will put on sale before the summer a new low-cost mixer with multiviewer and multi-format output, including 3D HD, which will combine high-quality video and audio mixing features in corporate, educational, event production, and mobile or portable applications or small studio environments.

Panasonic has unveiled what will be its new low-cost multi-format mixer for HD/SD-SDI production, with embedded audio, and stereoscopic HD 3D. This new proposal in mixers will not work in mixed HD and SD configurations, 59.94 Hz and 50 Hz or 1080i and 720p.

The new AG-HMX100, expected to go on sale in June, will be a high-end, but quite affordable option for mixing audio and video in corporate, educational, event production, and mobile or portable applications. With a very easy-to-use interface, it will offer multi-screen output and will have two HDMI inputs, two analogue in composite, and can be connected directly to any camcorder or any other source. Other connections will include a DVI-I input for use with a computer, two DVI-D outputs (for program and multi-screen), microphone input, dual auxiliary and audio outputs, connection for headphones via jack, genlock, GPI, RS-232C and tally.

Supporting embedded audio from HD/SD-SDI camcorders and other sources, the HMX100 offers eight XLW and two RCA connectors for line inputs, as well as embedded audio output and two channels for analog outputs.

The new HMX100 will have a 5.7-inch LCD monitor and a very intuitive control panel that will allow easy access to all digital effects, curtains and transitions, luminance and chrominance keys, DSK, titler, time effects (pause/strobe) and all types of fades for audio and video, which can also be programmed and called directly from memory buttons.

Su función como multiviewer permitirá controlar en todo momento todas las fuentes de vídeo, niveles de audio, monitoraje en forma de onda tanto en múltiples pantallas como en un sencillo monitor. Conectado a un monitor, este mezclador podrá mostrar el previo de salida, el nivel de audio en entradas y salidas, hasta seis entradas de vídeo, una fuente DVI-I y un monitor en forma de onda.

En entornos AV, el nuevo HMX100 podrá conectarse fácilmente a proyectores Panasonic vía DVI-D, HD-SDI y RS-232C pudiendo mezclar varias fuentes durante una presentación remoteando el control de cada proyector.

El precio del nuevo AG-HMX100 de Panasonic, que estará en el mercado antes de verano, rondará los 5.100 euros.
