Virtual studio and robotics, all in one

Orad and Fx-Motion will present at NAB a new all-in-one virtual studio and robotics solution that integrates a servo-motor-based camera head with integrated high-resolution sensors.

Orad and the Belgian Fx-Motion will present their new all-in-one robotics and virtual studio solution at this upcoming NAB. This proposal would allow a single operator to control both the virtual studio and all the cameras during production from a single interface, saving considerable operational costs.

Implementing the robotics-based solution itself brings significant cost savings as the virtual studio operator himself would operate the cameras from the virtual studio controller. The integrated solution can be controlled manually through a standard industrial controller and control panel (pan, tilt, focus, zoom) or through Orad's advanced 3DPlay controller, allowing infinite possibilities for both real and virtual studio productions.

In addition to substantial cost savings, it is also possible to synchronize between camera triggers and graphic events so that with a single command the operator can, for example, trigger a camera pan along with a graphic animation.

The new Orad-FGx-Motion solution is a servo-motor based camera head with integrated absolute high resolution sensors. The sensors provide precise measurements of camera movements, enabling extremely precise tracking capabilities.

The solution can support the weight of an ENG-type broadcast camera with typical ENG lenses, or standard compact cameras with teleprompter. In addition, it integrates perfectly with the leading broadcast lenses currently available on the market, has a very easy start-up and is controlled over a standard Ethernet network infrastructure, reducing installation costs.

In short, this system would combine Orad's well-known graphic capabilities with its powerful tracking know-how, together with Fx-Motion's vast experience in the field of remotely controlled robotic camera equipment.
