Telestream challenges the economy with spectacular growth and important launches
With spectacular sales in the first quarter of the year and new solutions in encoding, transcoding, direct webcasting and workflow automation, Telestream arrives at NAB ready to make people talk.
With companies still suffering from downsizing, declining revenues and the need to support a growing number of new channels, Telestream comes to NAB ready to meet all these needs with its new products, improving operational efficiency and IT migration, and opening the doors to new business.
Dan Castles, CEO of Telestream commented: "We are building on the power of our growth and our products, offering innovative solutions to meet the needs of our customers, helping to create the digital world of the next decade. We are launching new products in our core archiving areas, plus a new key product for the live webcasting market. Two years of research and development, an acquisition to improve our offering, two international leadership awards in the video transcoding market in 2009, and on top of that the best quarter in sales and income…”
Among the new solutions that Telestream presents at NAB 2010, Vantage stands out, the new automation and workflow design software that aims to revolutionize video capture, transcoding, metadata processing, analysis, graphics creation and management of video files in IT environments. As a transcoder, Telestream proposes Vantage which, built on the popular FlipFactory transcoder engine, offers the broadest file format support for broadcast, cable, publishing, web, mobile, video on demand and IPTV.
Configured in modules, Vantage combines video capture, transcoding, analysis, quality control, metadata processing, graphics creation and video file management in three solutions: Vantage Workflow, Vantage Analysis and Vantage Transcode. Vantage offers complete integration between components of a unified framework. In this environment it is possible to create flows independently of video formats or systems. With a flexible process design and intuitive interface, managing a variety of workflows is simplified making fully automated workflows possible without costly outsourcing software. Vantage integrates directly into existing video systems, network services and supports all file formats. According to Telestream managers, “it allows the migration to an IT infrastructure to be simpler and more effective.”
Also new at this NAB, Episode 6, is the first multi-platform, computer-to-server software that takes video encoding to another level, allowing users to pool resources and share encoding tasks on multiple computers, whether Mac or PC. It also offers cross-platform scalability from computer to server for the first time in the industry. By combining the exclusive One-Click Clustering and integrating file sharing, users will be able to work on multiple machines, making video encoding a fast and efficient task. Episode 6 automates the uploading of complete videos to YouTube, thus allowing you to enhance your reach. Professionals will be able to streamline operations and increase productivity, while reaching a larger audience.
Also worth highlighting is the Wirecast software (in version 4.0) and a new Wirecast Pro product that will allow anyone to create a professional video in real time. Wirecast is a live video production and streaming tool that can be installed on a laptop to broadcast live events and create professional webcasts from anywhere. Users will be able to manage multiple cameras, dynamically combining them with other media, video, images and sounds. Advanced production features include built-in 3D graphics, transitions and titles, which are fused with Wirecast's layering system. Once professionals are ready, they can broadcast to live broadcast sites using Flash, QuickTime or Windows Media.
Wirecast 4.0 also offers greater integration with professional video capture devices, better audio control, more encoding formats, and more sophisticated production tools. Wirecast Pro supports video capture from Black Magic, Matrox and Telestream Pipeline, and includes support for the On2 VP6 format, plus new latency and audio inspection controls, simplifying management. Advanced 3D features, bookmarks, news alert and more low-thirds titles, along with support for HDV and wireless IP camera inputs and MPEG-2 input. In short, enhanced production with a professional software package at a fraction of the cost of traditional hardware solutions.
