Televicentro automates its news production with VSN

Honduran television is building a new high-definition digital infrastructure that will cover, with VSN, the areas of ingestion, content management, news production and continuity.

The leading television channel in Honduras, Televicentro, plans to inaugurate its new full production news center in high definition at the end of May or beginning of June.

Pioneer in the introduction of high definition in the country, Televicentro is still preparing the transition. Rafael Villeda, executive vice president of Televicentro, has stated that "our idea is to consolidate the change from analog to digital and the transition to HD in a single step. That is why we have decided to first take the step towards HD production."

For its HD news production, Televicentro has entrusted VSN with the complete management of its workflow, which includes a four-channel automation system (VSNMulticom) and an automated ingest solution (VSNAutorec), a four-input, eight-output video server, fifteen clients for its news production and a legal copy system for its four main channels.

All of this under VSN's network and storage architecture, which has at all times guaranteed the full integration of its systems with other third-party solutions and technology, such as Sony and Miranda. The new news center completely in high definition is part of the expansion that Televicentro plans to develop in other areas of the channel.

The change in technology in Latin America is demanding solutions in all areas, which is why VSN is actively working in the area and in close collaboration with its distributors, it has already participated in a series of important projects, including Televicentro.
