First Bravo, automatic DVD archive recording for… a thousand years
The North American Primera Technology proposes an interesting solution for automatic archiving on DVD for photos, videos, documents or audio and virtually any other digital information. The system uses specially treated disks that ensure, according to the manufacturer, that the information is stored for at least… a thousand years!
Primera Technology, a North American company based in Plymouth (Minnesota) has presented at NAB 2010 under the slogan “Write Once, Read Forever” an interesting solution that promises to be a DVD archiving solution for… a thousand years! This is the Bravo series for automatic DVD publishing. It incorporates Millenniata's new recording and support units (based on its M-Disc technology), which would allow media and data to be stored with a minimum life of a thousand years.
These discs receive a special treatment to prevent degradation over time, and are available with both a printable and non-printable surface.
Through the software included in the system, PTPublisher, it is possible to quickly and easily access photo, video, document or audio files and virtually any other digital information. Primera also makes available to its users the Software Developer's Kit (SDK) that would allow them to integrate the solution with other applications for processing files, documents, medical images and Digital Asset Management (DAM) in general.
