In his second film 'Que se mueran los feos', Nacho G. Velilla claims the right of “the ugly” to be the protagonists of a romantic comedy. The film was shot on film, in 35mm, with an Arricam ST as the main camera and Master Primes optics, with equipment supplied by EPC. The film chosen was Kodak Vision3 5207 250D and 5219 500T.

If Nacho G. Velilla's debut film, Out of letter, almost all of the footage took place on a set and in the kitchen, in the new Antena 3 Films y Producciones Aparte film, Que se mueran los feos, there is no shortage of beautiful country exteriors. The film was shot from July 7 and for eight weeks in locations in Alto Aragón, Ansó, Hecho, Jaca, Huesca, and Zaragoza and Madrid. With Nacho G. Velilla himself and Mercedes Gamero as producers, and with Tedy Villalba, Ricardo García Arrojo and Fernando García in the executive production, José Ripoll took charge of production direction (as he already did in Out of letter).

Nacho G. Velilla also brought back cinematographer David Omedes for his new film. This production, as highlighted by Sensor de EPC, was shot on film, in 35mm, with an Arricam ST as the main camera and Master Primes optics, equipment supplied by EPC among other camera material, and with Kodak Vision3 5207 250D and 5219 500T film.

Along with David Omedes, the filming team includes Pablo Bürmann as focus puller, Usue Sanz as camera assistant, Irune Nicolay, meritorious cameraman, José Luis Mendoza as video technician, and Ramón Sánchez as 2nd unit and steadicam operator. The second unit team is completed by Adrià Egea as camera assistant, and Nati Díaz as camera assistant, in Huesca; Javier Arrontes, camera assistant in Ansó, and Cristina Rodríguez, camera assistant in Madrid. Fernando Beltrán served as head of electrical.

Running among cows

One of the moments that Producciones Aparte highlights, and that the EPC Sensor captures, is the filming of the cow birth, which was done in a single take, and since it was a handheld camera, there was a risk of seeing a technician from the team when David Omedes turned around looking for the shot.

The setting of the farm was set up taking advantage of the natural setting of Las Tiesas Altas, a small village in the Aísa valley about 15 km from Jaca. The art team, led by Alain Bainée, built the barn where the dairy cows are kept there.

A peculiar cattle beauty contest was filmed in the Plaza López Allué in Huesca where the livestock fair was recreated with the participation of a good representation of people from the area as extras.

The script of Que se mueran los feos It is the work of Oriol Capel, David S. Olivas, Antonio Sánchez and Nacho G. Velilla, who are also the founders of Apart Producciones. The four met working on the successful series 7 lives, and in 2008 they decided to “formalize their relationship” to jump into the world of cinema as producers with Out of letter.
