International recognition for the short films 'Intercambio' and 'La historia de siempre'
The Spanish short films 'Intercambio', shot by Antonello Novellino and Antonio Quintanilla with a Red One in 2:35 format, and 'La historia de siempre', by José Luis Montesinos, continue an unstoppable career of international recognition. The latest awards were won at the Lucania Film Festival (Italy).
Exchange, produced by Carlos Clavijo and directed by Antonello Novellino and Antonio Quintanilla from Madrid, was the winner in the Lucania Film Makers short film session at the eleventh edition of the Lucania Film Festival, which closed this weekend in Pisticci (Italy).

Exchange It tells the story of a village harassed by soldiers and is based on real events that occurred in rural communities in Ukraine and China. So far it has been awarded at festivals in Spain, Italy, Canada and Argentina, and has been selected in competitions in the United States, as well as at the Portobello Film Festival in London or at the Ekofilm in Prague (Czechoslovakia). In addition, it will compete at the New York Festival (United States) and Clemont Ferrand (Spain).
According to its producer Carlos Clavijo, "from the first moment, we thought about providing the highest quality, having the best technicians, the best soundtrack and the best photography. When people are going to see Avatar, you can't consider shooting your story with a mediocre camera. We used the RED One with special optics. In fact, the director of photography and the directors opted for a screen format that in our country is considered risky, 2:35, that of movies like Lawrence of Arabia. In Spain, people don't dare, but the results for the viewer are dazzling."
Despite Exchange He has demonstrated talent and ability to cross borders and please audiences in countries such as Canada, Argentina, Italy or England. Curiously, in Spain he has only won one festival. The short has subtitles in different languages, German, Italian, English, French...
“The best thing is not only being awarded abroad, by people with different tastes, but also having European producers congratulate you for your work at a time when bank credit is suffocating small companies,” said the producer.
