Christie will present in IBC 2010 its new line of 4K DLP Cinema Digital Projectors of the Solaria series. In the first global demonstration of a 4K DLP Cinema solution, in Amsterdam we can see in action the new Christie CP4230 offered by the Improved Chip DLP Cinema of Texas Instruments and is designed to be compatible with the DCI specifications (Digital Cinema Initiatives).

The 4K solution of Christie incorporates the design concepts of the CP2000 line. Projectors are the only DLP Cinema solution with the “Christie 4K+4” advantage, which includes: Christie Brilliant3D technology for high performance 3D, Christie Pixel Track technology for perfect image quality, simple maintenance procedures, and low operational cost. For those who seek to update their existing systems, Christie also offers rapid conversion, including the “15 minutes for 4K” update process.

As Craig Sholder, vice president of Christie's entertainment solutions "our experience with the 1.2" DLP Cinema chip has given us an advantage over the competition in the development of Premium 2K and 4K technology, to follow the rhythm of the digital film deployment. "

Christie plans to launch this autumn the Christie Solaria 4K series, starting with shipments from the beginning of 2011. The price of Digital Christie 4K projectors is estimated to be 35% above 2K projectors. The development of Christie 4K solutions for other markets beyond cinema will be based on market demand.
