Christie projectors will illuminate more than 200 screens in Morocco
Two agreements recently signed with the Government of Morocco and the Cinerji chain will result in the arrival of more than 200 Christie to the entire North African country.
The initiative SIN, backed by the government on behalf of the Moroccan Ministry of Cultures and Communications, will enable 100 screens in cultural centers from all over the country, while a second project, this time with private capital from the new exhibitor Ciners, will provide Christie projection technology in more than 100 rooms.
Both projects will be executed by Global Entertainment, Christie's partner in the region. Hakim Chagraoui, founder and CEO of the firm, has opted for Christie technology due to its “reputation for quality and reliability.” Furthermore, “the teams have met and exceeded our expectations,” adds Chagraoui.
Cinerji will debut the equipment Christie in 25 multiplexes in large and medium-sized cities in Morocco, while the SIN project will add screens to all government-owned cultural buildings in the country. Of course, while the SIN project aims to be completed by the end of 2023, Cinerji deployment is estimated to be completed in three years. Cinerji cinemas will also have sound systems Christie Vive Audio.
Adil Zerouali, senior sales director at Christie, has also appreciated the arrival of the brand's solutions on Moroccan soil: "It is very exciting to be part of the development of Moroccan cinema by supplying our projectors. It is clear that there is enormous potential for cinema experiences in the region and, with the support of the government as well as private investment, we hope to see the market flourish."
