“The Great Gatsby” premieres in New York in 4K and 3D with Christie Solaria Series projectors
Leonardo DiCaprio and Baz Luhrmann star in this film that premieres this Friday in the United States and this week and next in Latin America and Spain, coinciding with the start of the Cannes Film Festival on May 15.
The Solaria Series projectors Christie have allowed us to show on the big screen all the splendor of the 20s in 4K and 3D on the occasion of the pre-release of The Great Gatsby. The new Warner Bros. film has been shown for the first time before the general public at the Avery Fisher Hall in New York (USA) with unsurpassed color and clarity.
Directed by Baz Luhrmann, the film is based on the classic novel by F. Scott Fitzgerald, and will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros., starting May 10. The event featured the participation of the film's cast led by Leonardo DiCaprio, Tobey Maguire, Isla Fisher, Joel Edgerton and Carey Mulligan.
The company Digital Media Systems, which organized the production of the event, chose two Christie CP4230 DLP projectors that converged their light on the large screen to display a perfect image.
The president of Digital Media Systems, Gregg Paliotta, highlighted that Christie's 4K solution was the only option to project 3D images with the quality that a film like this required. “We've done other big premieres at Avery Fisher Hall before, like Hugo's invention y War Horse, thus renewing the trust of Warner and Lincoln Center in us and Christie to offer absolutely perfect image quality,” he assured.
