Abella Cinemas in Lugo installs Christie Solaria projectors in its eight new rooms

The complex installs four Christie CP2215 projectors (15,000 lumens, 2K resolution) and another four Christie CP2220 (22,000 lumens, 2K resolution upgradable to 4K) compatible with DCI standards.

The new Abella Cinemas in Lugo, located in the recently inaugurated Abella Shopping Center, have installed projectors from the series in its eight rooms, which have a total capacity of 1,500 seats. Christie Solaria powered by DLP Cinema from Texas Instruments. The installation was carried out by Christie's partner Kelonik.

En concreto se han instalado cuatro proyectores Christie CP2215 (15.000 lúmenes, resolución 2K) y otros cuatro Christie CP2220 (22.000 lúmenes, resolución 2K actualizable a 4K) compatibles con los estándares DCI (Digital Cinema Initiatives) y con tecnología Christie Previsto para proyectar películas 2D/3D HFR.

Todos los equipos han sido adquiridos con el IMB de Christie incorporado. Asimismo, dos de las ocho nuevas salas están preparadas para 3D, utilizando el sistema de gafas activas de Xpand. En cuanto al sonido, todas las salas están equipadas con la plataforma Dolby 7.1.

Ciproga, which is the company that owns these new cinemas, has four other multiplexes in Galicia, all of them digitalized. The circuit aims to cover a wide range of spectators by screening films ranging from children's themes with animated films, through commercial films, to the screening of auteur films.

This is by no means Ciproga's first experience with Christie projectors, since 32 of the 39 rooms that the company owned before its new multiplex in Lugo (now there are 47) are equipped with different models of Christie Solaria Series projectors.
Diego Silva, manager of Ciproga, highlights that "our experience with Christie has always been very good, so when we decided to open these new cinemas we immediately thought about equipping them with projectors from the brand. These are high quality machines, reliable and simple to operate; all our operators always advise us to buy Christie equipment."

“We are sure that we will bet on Christie again in the future and, of course, on Kelonik, our reference integrator who has always given us excellent service and exquisite treatment,” he added.

The Abella Shopping Center takes its name from the area of ​​the city in which it is located. With an area of ​​37,500 square meters, it houses a hypermarket from the multinational E-Leclerc, dozens of businesses and a large area for leisure and catering, with a karting track, bowling alley and movie theaters. The works on the new shopping center have involved a total investment that has exceeded 89 million euros.
