The Victoria Cinemas in Cullera reopen renovated with seven Christie projectors
The old Ábaco Cinemas now reopen as Victoria Cinemas with seven Christie projects of the CP2220, CP2215 and CP2308 models, with Xenón and 3DLP Cinema supplied by Sercine.
The exhibitor Villegas Cinemas has acquired seven film projectors from Christie for the new ones Victoria Cinemas of the Valencian municipality of Cullera (Alicante), which have been recently inaugurated. The installation has been carried out by the company Sercine.
The cinema in question is a complex of seven rooms with capacity for 1,200 spectators which has been reopened after being closed for five years. Previously known as Cines Ábaco, the closure of this multiplex in 2013 left the residents of this town of 22,000 inhabitants and its neighboring towns without cinema orphans.
However, in the middle of last March, the company Villegas Cines became concerned about the state of the facilities of the old Ábaco Cinemas and embarked on the adventure of reopening them.
This company, which currently has film exhibition halls in Almendralejo and Don Benito (Extremadura), Aranda del Duero (Burgos) and Rota (Cádiz), has been faithful to the Christie brand since the 35 millimeter projectors. In the transition to digital, Villegas Cines once again opted for Christie for the digitalization of all its cinemas.
Quality and luminosity
Matias Villegas, from Villegas Cines, comments that "for this new complex we decided to choose Christie again for the quality and luminosity of its projectors and for Sercine's after-sales technical service, which is very good and very fast, delivering the installations on the scheduled date."
"Christie are the projectors on the market that we like the most. Their main advantage is that, with low-power lamps, they offer number one performance and luminosity in their sector, in addition to the ease of use and the very good quality-price ratio they offer," he adds.
"On the other hand, our operators are giving us very positive feedback regarding the use of Christie equipment and its ease of use. They have learned the software very easily and in a very short time. In short, we are clear that we will continue to rely on Christie for future installations," underlines the exhibitor.
Specifically, the Victoria Cinemas have been provided with a Christie CP2220, of the CP2215 and four CP2308, lighting projectors Xenon and 3DLP Cinem technologyto. One of the screens is equipped with a Dolby 3D system installed on a Christie CP2220.
The complex preserves all the original sound equipment of the Ábaco Cinemas, such as processors, speakers and amplifiers. The seven rooms have 5.1 audio with the possibility of expanding to 7.1 and even Dolby Atmos.
