StreamboxME, now also for Android-based phones

Streambox will launch the StreamboxME video encoder for Android-based phones on the market at IBC, which will allow high-quality video encoding on low-bandwidth networks and mobile devices, allowing video to be sent from any point without the need for a link or mobile unit.

At IBC 2010, Streambox will introduce StreamboxME (Mobile Encoder) for Android, a new version of the company's smart video encoding application that is compatible with Android-based mobile devices. StreamboxME will allow Android phone users to upload high-quality videos over 3G mobile networks with the Streambox Live video contribution service, where they can be viewed by broadcasters, news and government agencies and enterprise environments.

It will soon be available for free download from the Android sites, as well as from the Streambox website. StreamboxME now adds Android phones to a growing list of mobile devices, including iPhone, 3G and 4G and other mobile phones, as well as Wi-Fi-enabled laptops that can become tools for news contribution in a cost-effective, easy-to-use, and highly flexible way.
