Co-organized by the San Sebastián Film Festival and Tabakalera, International Center for Contemporary Culture, the program of the IX International Meeting of Cinema Students will host a Masterclass day, which will be held on Wednesday, September 22, and which this year will be dedicated to transmedia narratives and 3D cinema.
The main objective of the masterclass dedicated to transmedia narratives is to introduce a new way of telling stories that is revolutionizing audiovisual production, leisure and digital entertainment; stories that spread and diversify through different media and supports – audiovisuals, games, websites, comics, mobile platforms or real experiences. These projects generate different narrative universes that allow you to interact with users in the creation and distribution of stories, share knowledge and live new experiences.
The masterclass is made up, first of all, of an international presentation given by Lance Weiler, an undisputed pioneer in transmedia productions. Titled “Transmedia: telling stories beyond a screen”, it will discuss how Transmedia projects should be designed and deployed so that they are attractive and interesting, build audiences and exploit new forms of financing.
Secondly, Robert Figueras will present as a practical case the Panzer Chocolate project (Robert Figueras and Gemma Dunjó), one of the first transmedia projects.
The conference will end with a debate on training in transmedia narratives and the new opportunities they offer, in which the speakers will participate and will be moderated and facilitated by Ian Ginn, producer and expert in transmedia training. Students, teachers and attending professionals will be able to join the debate.
3D Cinema Workshop
Manolo Gómez, president of Dygra Films, will give a masterclass on Digital 3D cinema and the Dygra Native Digital 3D system, the company's own seal that guarantees a “native” production, designed and produced from the first moment in stereoscopic digital 3D cinema. One of the topics that will be addressed is the film Holy Night!, the first Spanish 3D animation production and one of the first in Europe, whose work in progress will be presented at the San Sebastián Festival and will hit theaters this Christmas.
This workshop is completed with the intervention of Panavision in which the teaser of the film will be shown for the first time The Krostons, Masters of the Universe (Frederik Du Chau) and will talk about the equipment and 3D treatment used in the film.
