The AMADIS 2010 Congress will analyze access to digital TV for the sensory disabled

On November 18 and 19, the Carlos III University of Madrid will host the AMADIS 2010 Congress which, with the participation of relevant personalities from the audiovisual industry and the political world, will analyze the access needs to new information technologies, leisure and digital television of users with sensory disabilities (blind and deaf).

The recent entry into force of the General Law of Audiovisual Communication will mean a revolutionary change for the more than two million people with disabilities in Spain. Thanks to this Law they will be able to access television programs through the new mandatory services established for all television channels.

At the AMADIS 2010 Congress, which the Spanish Center for Subtitling and Audio Description (CESyA) will organize on November 18 and 19 at the Carlos III University of Madrid, users with sensory disabilities (blind and deaf) will be able to make their voices heard regarding their needs for access to new information technologies, leisure, digital television, and the current situation of accessible broadcasting will be presented.
