Smart shared storage with DVS on Digit Digit

The post-production company Digit Digit, based in Hong Kong and one of the most powerful in Asia, has just implemented the SpycerBox and Spycer shared storage solutions from DVS. Its new storage infrastructure, intelligently managed with Spycer, consists of four DVS SpycerBoxes with a centralized storage capacity of 192 TB.

Hong Kong-based post-production company Digit Digit has just implemented DVS's SpycerBox and Spycer shared storage solutions. Recognized in the Asian market as one of the best post-production companies in advertising, Digit Digit has updated its storage infrastructure with four SpycerBoxes from DVS with a centralized storage capacity of 192 TB.

In addition, the Spycer DVS management software allows quick and intuitive handling of all material. Additionally, the standalone Mephisto defrag application allows placement of image sequences and clips in optimal locations on the storage system in combination with defrag processing, remote copy or proxy generation, with these operations being carried out in the background.

The stability of SpycerBox DVS was, for example, with respect to real-time performance alongside third-party applications, a key element in the choice for DVS.

SpycerBox is a flexible and versatile storage solution capable of improving original workflow speed and efficiency along with a reliable storage system. Used as a NAS solution or SAN configuration or a combination of both, SpycerBox increases the performance of file-based workflows. Configured as a SAN, as in the Digit Digit installation, SpycerBox unites both image data and metadata storage in a five RU chassis.

Spycer management software allows users to explore, search and manage data across the network from any connected workstation. Digit Digit opted for multiple software licenses across its heterogeneous network, allowing graphic artists and operators to access and copy all data at high speed.
