The new Starmax HD prepaid platform will start on March 29

The new prepaid television platform will broadcast through Hispasat 1E including channels such as Discovery World HD, BBC Entertainment, FilmBox or KidsCo. Ferguson will be responsible for the production of the decoders, Globecast will aggregate, encrypt and distribute all the channels and Conax will supply the cards to securely access the prepaid content.

Everything is now ready for the launch of the new prepaid television platform. The Starmax company has announced that Starmax HD broadcasts will begin in Spain on March 29, introducing a new concept of prepaid and satellite television through Hispasat 1E.

Starmax HD will include in its offer Discovery World HD, a new channel for the entire Discovery Networks family that will be available in April, the prestigious BBC Entertainment channel, or the children's channel KidsCo, with the best programming for the little ones in the house. Starmax HD also offers a multitude of film options through FilmBox and FilmBox Spain, both available at the beginning of April, and, thanks to the collaboration with Chello Multicanal, the film proposals of MGM HD, CTK, XTRM, and Somos.

La oferta de programación también incluye las mejores retransmisiones deportivas en alta definición, con Eurosport HD y Eurosport 2, y la información de Natura, el único canal de documentales especializado en naturaleza y medio ambiente. Por supuesto, los usuarios de Starmax HD también recibirán desde la misma plataforma todos los canales de TDT españoles, algunos de ellos también en HD, y otros muchos canales vía satélite gratuitos.

La compañía Ferguson se encargará de la producción de los decodificadores, que permitirán acceder tanto a canales de satélite, como TDT, en HD y SD. Equipado con acceso USB y PVR, el decodificador permite a los usuarios grabar imágenes de la televisión y pasarlas a su memoria portátil, y también reproducir en la televisión archivos guardados en su pen drive. El decodificador también permite acceder a internet y reproducir cadenas de radio mediante streaming.

Starmax HD contará también con Globecast para agregar, encriptar y distribuir todos los canales de la plataforma vía satélite. Finalmente, Conax dotará a los usuarios de Starmax HD de las tarjetas para acceder a su contenido exclusivo de forma cómoda, segura y pre pago, al estilo de las tarjetas de telefonía móvil.
