Discovery Max will start in Spain on January 12
After a few days of test broadcasting, Discovery Max will land on January 12 in Spain, open-air, with a very varied programming and a common hallmark: high quality content and pure entertainment with stories in which reality surpasses fiction.
Following the agreement reached by Discovery with Unidad Editorial, editor of the newspaper El Mundo and manager of the Veo Tv channel, starting January 12 at 5:45 p.m., Discovery Max will occupy the DTT frequency of this channel with an offer focused on factual entertainment (non-fiction) with genres ranging from extreme survival, motor and cooking entertainment, to the wild world and docu-reality.
Discovery Max will be aimed at a young, adult and urban audience, eager for new, fresh and real content. The channel will start with a wide range of series that have achieved great success internationally, including content from the 13 channels that Discovery Networks distributes in the United States and the 24 channels that it distributes around the world.
Extreme survival will become one of the channel's big bets with series like The Last Survivor, in which Bear Grylls will teach how to survive in the most extreme situations; Survival as a couple, starring a young married couple who show that living together is sometimes more difficult than surviving and Duo of survivors, in which a military expert and a naturalist will reveal the basic keys to resisting in the middle of nature.
The engine will also be a reference in Discovery Max with series such as American Chopper, a cult series for motor lovers that shows the daily activity of a chopper or motorcycle design and assembly workshop. Urban tuning, starring tuning star Ryan Friedlinghaus who runs his exclusive workshop, number one in tuning in the world, where all types of vehicles pass through, from city cars to luxury cars.
Discovery Max also doesn't forget the sweeter side with cooking series like The King of Cakes, in which Buddy Valastro will create some of the most delicious, elaborate and spectacular cakes that have ever been seen or docu-reality series like LA INK, who accompanies Kat Von D in the tattoo parlor she has opened in Los Angeles.
The wildest and most untamed nature will also have its place in Discovery Max. Viewers will also witness unusual stories and extreme experiences in I live to tell it, in which people who have seen death up close will tell their experience; Radical Fishing, in which they will accompany a brave group of men who risk their lives fishing for king crab in Alaska, one of the hardest jobs in the world; poison hunter, in which its protagonist Donald Schultz travels the world to discover the mysteries hidden in animal DNA and Destroyed in seconds, which will show the most horrifying catastrophes caught on camera.
The most curious will stay glued to the screen with series like This is how it is done, in which the manufacturing secrets of thousands of everyday objects will be revealed while suspense lovers will not miss customs control, a series in which they will accompany Australian customs officials in the difficult situations that their work poses to them on a daily basis.
The World in Discovery Max
In addition, current events will also have space in Discovery Max with the magazine A look at the world which will revolve around three axes: analysis, research and dissemination. This program will analyze the topics of the day that have had the most impact on the street and will include notes on society, social networks, technology or science. Through interviews, gatherings and spaces with collaborators from the El Mundo newspaper, it will open windows to the nearby and current world.
