Countdown for Max in Spain: HBO, Discovery, Eurosport…

The renewed streaming service from Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD), Max, will land in Spain on May 21 offering a transversal entertainment platform with films, series, programs, local products and top-level sporting events such as Paris 2024 o Roland-Garros.

At an event held in Madrid, Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) has revealed its plans for the HBO's umpteenth transformation. In its final version in Spain, it will combine a quality local production offering with live sports and global premieres. In this way, Max will be the destiny of HBO Originals, the studio films WB, Max Originals, he DC universe, the world of Harry Potter, a wide offer of children's content, a varied program of home and lifestyle, realities y documentaries of the WBD universe of brands and content. In addition, it will be the “only place to follow every minute” of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

A wide selection of proper names exemplifies the potential of Max's catalog: Warner Bros. films such as Barbie, Aquaman and the lost kingdom, y Wonka; los HBO Originals The Last of Us, The White Lotus, Euphoria, True Detective: Noche polar, The Regime, El Simpatizante, the second season of The Jinx (El gafe) and the new comedy The Franchise; a new batch of Max Originals based on popular Warner Bros. brands such as The Penguin y Welcome to Derry (Stephen King’s IT), and films from the WB studio's extensive library, such as the Harry Potter, Paddington, Matrix, The Dark Knight trilogy, Joker y the lord of the rings.

In addition to the broadcast of the Olympic Games. Bet on local production

One of the pillars of Max's strategy in Spain is the commitment to local content production of a wide variety of genres and themes that will arrive on the platform in 2024. From entertainment programs such as Beijing Express, with Miguel Ángel Muñoz, or Naked Attraction, with Marta Flich, to original Max series like When no one sees us, directed by Enrique Urbizu and starring Maribel Verdú and Mariela Garriga, or Puberty, directed and starring Leticia Dolera. The platform will also feature documentary productions such as The Sancho case, whose first episode released in April has become the most viewed locally produced documentary in the history of the platform.

During the presentation, Max also announced his next project: Fury, Max Original series directed by Félix Sabroso. Fury is the story of five furious women in search of revenge, a kaleidoscopic portrait of a social moment starring five great actresses who meet for the first time on screen: Candela Peña, Pilar Castro, Cecilia Roth, Nathalie Poza and Carmen Machi. Max's plans

Starting May 21, Max will offer its subscribers a standard plan without advertising (same as the current one for HBO Max) that will offer all content without interruptions, in HD quality and will allow 30 downloads at any time, as well as a premium experience which offers 4K, additional streams and a greater number of downloads. Furthermore, hiring the Sports Complement which can be added to any base plan, subscribers will have access to all of Eurosport's live sporting events offering.

Existing HBO Max subscribers will be able to discover the experience on Max by maintaining their current profiles and viewing history, while continuing their Max journey where they left off. In some cases, depending on the device or operating system, the HBO Max app will automatically update to the Max app. In other cases, when users open their HBO Max app, they will be prompted to download the new Max app, allowing them to start exploring the new platform with “just a few clicks.”
