PRISA TV launches its new Internet TV service with Envivio encoders

Qinmedia supplies and starts the new “over the top” head of the operator that marks a milestone in the advanced television services in Spain. The technology adopted for this header has been Apple HTTP adaptive streaming.

Hurry TV is leading the group of operators who are opening a path, making their clients directly in multiple formats and through alternative roads. To do this, it has had the real -time coding platform and on demand of the Californian manufacturer envivio through the Qinmedia company that was responsible for the supply, commissioning and support.

The coding platform is extremely flexible and is based on the envivio 4caster C42 encoder. This encoder allows multiple software configurations in terms of input signals (SDI or IP video) and video output profiles. Purcha TV also has the two available versions: Real-time coding and off-line coding based on video on demand. The topology and design of the project guarantee the future growth of services and/or the necessary re-configuration of them attending to the future demand of the users.
The technology adopted for this header has been Apple HTTP adaptive streaming. Envivio encoders also support Microsoft technologies (Silvelight Smooth streaming) and flash dynamic streaming.

The coding platform has been completely integrated with the other elements that form the Ecosystem of the hurry TV: the global platform supplier: subscriber rights management, DRM, Nagravision and various CDN suppliers (Content Delivery Network).

Configuration and integration, training and support tasks have been the responsibility of Qinmedia engineers who together with the Envivio Development and Service Area, have managed to realize in record time, this new project.

This installation shows that the demand for online video is growing rapidly stimulated by on demand services, the “Catch-up” and real-time events that the user can enjoy at any time, anywhere and in the most varied devices. It is noteworthy that the term "over the top" (OTT) not only refers to access from the PC through the Internet to all these contents but also extends it to all types of devices such as consoles, "tablets" and "smart phones".
